Duties and Responsibilities - Oversee one or two direct reports.

Health and Safety Coach - Dayton, OR
Monrovia Growers in Dayton, Oregon is currently seeking a compassionate, bilingual (Spanish/English) LPN or Workers Compensation Professional to fill an upcoming vacancy as a part-time Health and Safety Coach.
Position Summary
The Health and Safety Coach is a part-time position (24 hours/week) with flexible day-time hours. This person is responsible for overseeing all areas of Workers Compensation Administration and for providing general first aid & assessment for any workplace accidents or incidents. Total employee population varies between approximately 300 during the winter months and 500 during the busy Spring shipping season; many of our Craftsmen speak Spanish as their first language. The Health & Safety Coach will report directly to the nursery Human Resources Coach.
Key duties and responsibilities of this role include: - Oversee all Workers Compensation policies and procedures, claims management and job development and assessment.
- Coordinate treatment and assist employees in injury recovery.
- Provide general first aid and assessment for all on-site injuries and accidents.
- Actively participate in the Safety Committee, preparing and providing useful safety data to the Safety Committee and company leadership.
- Act as the strategic business partner and a key technical resource to other members of the local leadership team and key business units with regards to Safety and Health.
- Ensure a safe working environment in all aspects of production and administrative operations.
- Ensure that all department activities are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations.
- Monitor and proactively control Workers Compensation costs through effective Risk Management and Safety Leadership.
- Lead by example the implementation of Monrovia's vision of Total Quality Management.
Background Required - LPN, CNA, EMT or strong background/experience providing emergency or urgent care to injured patients is required.
- Strong medical assessment skills and knowledge of general medical terminiology is required.
- Ability to speak both English and Spanish is required.
- Experience in Workers Compensation claims and/or Risk Management experience is desirable.
- CRM, CWCP or related certification is desirable.
Compensation
This is a non-exempt (hourly) position. Salary is based on the candidates experience and qualification. Monrovia Nursery Company offers a competitive base wage and benefits package.
