"AZUSA, Calif. (July 6, 2007) - Monrovia Growers has partnered with Armstrong Growers to sell its premium plants through Armstrong's re-wholesale yards in San Juan Capistrano and Bermuda Dunes in Southern California.
According to Bob Smiland, Monrovia's chief sales and marketing officer, this is another step in Monrovia's effort to enhance its ability to meet the needs of landscapers and designers. "For our larger commercial accounts, they'll see an increased level of service with the addition of the Armstrong sales staff," he said. "And for the landscapers with smaller jobs, who in the past couldn't reach our minimum order requirements, they can now purchase Monrovia plants through the re-wholesale yards in smaller increments."
Each of the yards will stock inventory for walk-in traffic, which is ideal for small projects and last-minute needs as well as moderate landscape jobs. Large orders can be shipped directly to job sites, and smaller orders will be combined and delivered weekly to the re-wholesale yards.
Mike Kunce, CEO of Armstrong, is dedicated to offering the best plant material to California landscaper designers and contractors. "We will offer only Monrovia and Armstrong plants in the re-wholesale yards," he said. "Those professionals who specify plants will have an incredible palette of the best varieties." Armstrong is known for its 950 varieties of roses, 'Hotbiscus' Hibiscus, and colorful annuals. Monrovia grows more than 2,000 varieties of ornamentals, hundreds of which are exclusive.
