Monrovia Growers Named to Hall of Fame by Co-Op of Canadian-based Garden Centers

Jan 5, 2006

AZUSA, Calif. (January 5, 2006) — Monrovia Growers was named to the vendor Hall of Fame by the 40-member Garden Centre Group Co-Op (GCGC). This Canada-wide group established a Hall of Fame five years ago for suppliers they work with who provide excellent service. “We have such a terrific business relationship with Monrovia,” said John Degroot, owner of Degroot’s Nurseries in Sarnia, Ontario and chair of the co-op’s award committee. “We certainly admire the quality of Monrovia’s products, and their sales reps are great on follow up.” To qualify for the Hall of Fame, suppliers must have shown significant growth in value in recent years; do business with most of the garden centers in the co-op and maintain an above-average relationship with the members. “Monrovia Growers excels in all these areas and we’re pleased to bestow this prestigious award,” he added.

The GCGC was established 20 years ago and is comprised of 40 of the leading independent garden centers throughout Canada. Their collective buying power and shared marketing efforts have proven successful in competing against mass merchants.
