The Sales Trainee Program consists of three stages:
- Hands-on Nursery Work (up to nine months, depending upon skill, knowledge, and experience)
- Inside Sales Representative (two to four years)
- Outside Sales Representative
qualifications
Required background and experience:
- Either a horticultural background and/or related degree or extensive sales experience (ideally a combination of all three)
- Ability to relocate between locations
- Excellent sales and interpersonal skills
Preferred, but not required:
- Background in retail sales and/or marketing
- Successful completion of an internship in a related field
Essential qualities and attributes:
- Outstanding people/sales skills
- A passion for plants
- Ability to learn quickly
- Strong sense of personal and professional integrity
- Upbeat attitude and professional demeanor
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined
- Excellent communication skills
compensation and benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Monrovia offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
- While trainees perform the hands-on nursery work, they earn a competitive hourly wage.
- As an Inside Sales Rep, in addition to earning the hourly wage, trainees are eligible to participate in our incentive programs.
- As an Outside Sales Rep, trainees move onto a commission structure with a potential for earning an excellent income.
