Now sketch in the shrubs you'd like to plant. Remember shrubs can grow quickly. Keep in mind they will need space to fill out. Think about evergreens that keep their color all year as backdrops for other plants. Some shrubs flower in the spring, some turn color in the fall, and some do both. A little planning for four-season interest now will keep your background palette vibrant all year.
