Fine hair-like blades arch outward like a fountain head from a dense central crown. Produces feather-like airy flower heads in late spring that mature over summer. Mature clumps are highly animated by the slightest breeze. Reseeds to naturalize in warm, dry, well drained locations. Exceptional choice among arid western natives and xeriscape plants. Readily rseeds. Herbaceous. Full sun. Fast growth 12 to 14 inches tall and 30 inches wide in bloom.
