Dramatic architectural form and color distinguish this valuable species. Large 4 foot long fronds have a big impact on plant shape. Foliage is blue-green in summer with new growth covered in white hairs. Fertile fronds are a contrasting cinnamon brown. Native to the Americas and Asia, it is highly adaptable to both tropics and temperate regions. Prefers acidic humus rich soil and even moisture. Herbaceous. Filtered sun. Slow growing to 4 feet and about 3 feet wide. Hardy.
