Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Silver Queen'
White, lacy new growth weeps slightly and matures to light green foliage with white speckling. A delicate textured, brilliant specimen that is especially showy when provided a green backdrop. This new variety is grown on a root stock that is resistant to Phytophthora lateralis - a disease that has caused the demise of many Chamaecyparis lawsonianas over the last two decades. The Guardian™ Series rootstock was developed by Oregon State University. We are utilizing this new rootstock on several varieties: 'Blue Surprise', 'Golden King', 'Silberstar', and 'Yvonne'.
