This durable easy-to-grow vine has thick, glossy evergreen foliage. Abundant clusters of creamy white buds emerge in late winter, opening to highly perfumed pendulous blossoms of dusky mauve. Large lavender-pink sausage-like fruit are displayed in summer. Ideally situated on an arbor or trellis near pathways, patios and garden entrances so the attractive flowers and intoxicating fragrance can be enjoyed up close. Semi-evergreen in colder zones.

This superb selection was found growing on the wall of Winchester Cathedral in Hampsire, U.K., and was brought to Monrovia by the renown plantsman, Dan Hinkley. Awarded Outstanding Plant in the 2012 New Varieties Showcase at the Farwest Flower and Garden Show.
