Design Professionals are Finding New Clients with Monrovia’s Online Search Feature

Pros Invited to Submit Online Profile

AZUSA, Calif. (January 25, 2012) – Monrovia, the leading grower of premium plants, introduced a feature on its popular website last year — one that allows site visitors to find a design professional.  “We are hearing about many successes from design pros who are getting new clients from their profile on our website,” explained Katharine Rudnyk, specialty accounts manager. “It’s no wonder, since we have almost 8,500 people a day visiting looking for plant information and gardening ideas. And quite a few are seeking help with design.”

MJ Martin, a landscape designer in Santee, Calif., checked on the feature when she first heard about it and noticed that a colleague in her area had a profile and decided she better set one up, too.  “I’ve received several calls from that listing,” said Martin.  “It’s great that I can post photos of my design style.  My latest client was attracted by the pictures of drought-tolerant gardens I created using water-wise plants.”

    Natalie Cousins-Robledo of Minanda Landscape Design in Pasadena said that within the first month of setting up her profile on Monrovia’s Find a Design Professional website, she received two calls from potential clients.  “They were both loyal Monrovia customers and very enthusiastic,” she said.  “Setting up my profile was very quick and easy!  I was able to import my logo and prewritten copy — it was a total snap!”

Members in good standing with the US Green Building Council (USGBC), American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) design & build, Garden Centers of America (GCA) and American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA) who practice in the U.S. and Canada are encouraged to submit an online profile.  They can create a mini portfolio with up to six photos, a logo, social network links, favorite Monrovia plant, and background information.

Then, residential and commercial property owners and managers seeking design assistance can search by zip code, design style or project type to find a qualified designer near them.
