Honey Tree Viburnum

Visit Windcliff, the Pacific Northwest garden of plant explorer Daniel J. Hinkley, accompanied by Monrovia's Nicholas Staddon. In this segment, they chat about Honey Tree Viburnum (Viburnum arbicolon), a tree-like Viburnum with handsome evergreen foliage and clusters of highly honey-scented flowers that fill the summer garden with fragrance. Originally from Taiwan, this selection was chosen by Dan Hinkley for a more compact habit, well suited for foundation planting or an informal screen. Small decorative fruit changes from yellowish green to brilliant red to black, creating a medley of colors.
