LoreThe Begonia family (Begoniaceae), named for 17th center French Canadian Michael Begon, is native to Brazil. Wax Begonias, a group of Begonia semperflorens hybrid cultivars, are thought to have originated from the B. cucullata var Hookeri and the B. schmidtiana species.
