Wood's Compact Kinnikinnick
Arctostaphylos uva-ursi 'Wood's Compacta'
Ground-hugging branches form a dense mat of evergreen foliage. Pink-tinged white flowers are followed by bright red fruit in late summer that persists through winter. Small, leathery, shiny green leaves have vibrant red winter color. The low, spreading form is very useful for low water rock gardens and hillsides in cooler regions.
Water NeedsOnce established, water occasionally; more in extreme heat.
