Design Ideas Though not a real Bamboo, it is equally important to Asian-inspired landscapes. With its tall, thin growth and graceful bright foliage and berries, it makes a perfect accent in foliage-heavy gardens. Perfect plant for very narrow places, tight entries or beside gateways. Indispensable for courtyards, entry gardens and high-profile niches in architecture. Never outgrows its space, so feel free to plant into vine pockets in paving. Or, for a real show, grow in Asian-style glazed ceramic pots beside water gardens and fountains.
Flower Color White
Foliage Color Green
Companion Plants Kohuhu (Pittosporum); Rose (Rosa); Creeping Juniper (Juniperus); Cryptomeria (Cryptomeria); Abelia (Abelia)
CARE
Care Easily grown in average, well-drained soil. Water deeply, regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Once established, reduce frequency; tolerates mild drought. Apply fertilizer in early spring. Prune one-third of the stems annually to promote dense spring growth.
