Description Strong vining habit for quick cover and beautiful show of huge flower bracts that bloom golden, turn to rosy-mauve. Can be used as summer annual in patio containers, hanging baskets. Evergreen.

HISTORY
Lore This genus was named after the famous French explorer Louis Antoine de Bougainville who circumnavigated the globe from 1766 to 1769. What are mistaken for flowers are actually colored leaf bracts that surround a tiny white tubular flower.
