Plant the crown at soil level in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. After harvesting, remove old leaves with hand shears. Leave the crown and new leaves untouched to allow sunlight into the center of the plant. Feed again at mid-season.
