Silberstar Port Orford Cedar - The Guardian® Series

Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Silberstar'

SKU
02362
Beautiful silver-blue foliage adorns the graceful, cascading, fan-shaped branches of this evergreen conifer. This robust selection is grown on Guardian® root stock, an exceptional under-stock developed by Oregon State University, which is resistant to Phytophthora lateralis, a disease that has caused the demise of many Chamaecyparis lawsonianas over the last two decades. We use this new rootstock on several varieties: 'Blue Surprise', 'Golden King', 'Silver Queen' and 'Yvonne'. Rounded form becomes more upright and pyramidal with age. Makes a striking solitary lawn specimen or grouped as a screen or foundation plant.
