|Lore||This tree is grafted and trained as espalier into three tiers with four varieties intended to extend the harvest season in today's smaller gardens: Akane, a sweet, rich, early season dessert apple, excellent for fresh eating and drying, ripening late summer; Honeycrisp, with its large red, crisp, deliciously sweet fruit, well-suited for fresh eating and cooking, and equally suited for pressing for cider, also ripening in early fall; the versatile dessert apple, Spartan, a sweet, juicy midseason hybrid with wonderful fine texture suitable for baking, sauces, and eating fresh, ripens in mid to late fall, and has excellent storage capacity; and Liberty, with red, crisp and refreshing, juicy fruit, ready to harvest in mid to late fall.|

Provide enriched, well-drained soil. Water deeply, regularly during first few growing seasons to develop an extensive root system; reduce frequency, once established. Feed before new growth begins in spring with an all purpose fertilizer. Prune as needed to remove dead wood and to maintain desired size and shape.
