OVERVIEW
Description A superb dwarf groundcover with tufts of yellow-green, grass-like leaves. Slowly spreads by creeping rhizomes to form a golden mat of sweetly fragrant foliage. Grows well in wet areas and is excellent at stabilizing soil at pond and stream bed edges. A handsome addition to container arrangements. Semi-evergreen.

CARE
Care Thrives in average soils with consistent moisture, even boggy conditions and standing water. Shelter from harsh sun exposure in hot summer regions. Water regularly to maintain moisture levels; will not tolerate dry soils. For a neat appearance, remove old, faded foliage before new leaves emerge. Divide every 2 to 3 years in early spring.

Lore The name 'Acorus' is derived from the Greek word 'Acoron' meaning pupil. The terms was used by ancient Greek Physician Pedanius Dioscorides who began its use as an herbal remedy for inflammation of the eye. Acorus gramineus is native to Japan and Eastern Asia.
