  • History & Lore
    History:
This selection was developed and introduced in 2006 by Dr. Jon T. Lindstrom, associate professor of horticulture at the University of Arkansas. With a focus on breeding non-invasive plants with useful traits such as drought tolerance, Dr. Lindstrom's efforts resulted in this long-blooming, sterile Buddleja with an extended bloom season. The significant advantage for Asian Moon is that it is sterile. Because it doesn't set seeds, it will not escape cultivation and become invasive by producing unwanted seedlings, offering a great alternative for garden in parts of the U.S. that have prohibited the non-sterile varieties.
