    Easily grown in average, well-drained soil. Water deeply, regularly during first growing season to establish extensive root system. Once established, reduce frequency; tolerates mild drought. Apply fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Prune back 1/3 of the stems annually to promote dense spring growth.Pruning time: spring.
