Description Exquisite and dramatic, the very dark purple-brown, serrated foliage and pale pinkish white plumes command attention in the landscape. A magnificent accent for moist areas, such as around pools and water features. More sun tolerant than other species of astilbe, but does best in a shaded to dappled shade setting. An herbaceous perennial.
