Superb glossy background for beds and borders Makes a lush year-round cover up of utilities and vents in foundation beds.
Flower Color White
Foliage Color Green
Companion Plants Kohuhu (Pittosporum); Azalea (Azalea); Butterfly Bush (Buddleja); Ixora (Ixora); Mexican Hardy Petunia (Ruellia)
CARE
Care Thrives in humus-rich, neutral to slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Water deeply, regularly during the first growing season to establish an extensive root system; reduce frequency, once established. Apply a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in early spring. For a tidy appearance, prune annually to shape.
HISTORY
Lore Seeds of this genus have been used as traditional rosary beads known as Rudraksha, which is derived from the Sanskrit for "eyes of the lord". It is said that twenty four different types sprang from the eyes of the Hindu god, Shiva.
