History
From AB-Cultivars in The Netherlands, this new Helenium is the product of a planned breeding program conducted by Arie Blom in Zuidwolde, The Netherlands, with an objective to develop compact Helenium plants with attractive flower colors. This plant was discovered in 2010, as a naturally-occurring branch mutation of Helenium x 'Salsa' (PP #25,978), found and selected on a single flowering plant within a population of 'Salsa', in a controlled outdoor nursery environment. Reproduction by cuttings in a controlled greenhouse environment in the Netherlands demonstrated that the unique features of this new plant are stable were reproduced true to type in successive generations. It was granted U.S. Plant Patent #25,969 in September, 2015. Introduced in North America by Plants Nouveau.
