Description Native to hot, dry areas of Texas and Mexico, this short-trunk desert perennial is perfect for sandy or rocky, lean soil. The relatively small cluster of long, sharp-edge blade-like leaves forms the base of a spectacularly tall flower stalk, reaching 9 to 15 ft. Flowering begins in mid-spring and continues through summer. Easily grown in rock gardens or rocky hillsides. An evergreen perennial.
