| History | This new cultivar originated in a controlled breeding program in Santa Paula, California during September 2012, with an objective to develop new Coreopsis cultivars with large flowers, continuous summer blooming and mounded growth habits. The result of a self-pollination of a proprietary, unpatented Coreopsis hybrid, this new plant was discovered and selected as a single flowering plant within the progeny of that pollination during April 2013, in a controlled environment in Santa Paula, California. Propagation by cuttings demonstrated that the new cultivar reproduces true to type with all of its characteristics retained. U.S. Plant Patent #28,882 was issued in January of 2018. At time of patent application, no seed production had been observed. Cited as a "Top Performer" by Allan Armitage and in LSU, Metrolina, and Costa Farms Garden Trials, and awarded Greenhouse Grower's Medal Of Excellence Award. |
