Ever since they have been favored for edging walkways, lawns and anywhere a dense perimeter of low growing plants is desired. The large flat leaves make a great tool for contrasting against feathery or lacy foliage in woodland and shaded borders. It has also found a home in rock gardens They are exceptional packed into classical pots as a dense clump of uniquely textured foliage.
