|Watering||Keep soil surface moist, but not soggy.|
|Blooms||Prized for foliage.|
|Mature Size||Quickly reaches 20 ft. tall, 10 to 15 ft. spread.|
|Design Ideas||Tree ferns are excellent for shaded nooks and under the canopies of larger shade trees. They add a decidedly lush exotic character to any space, be it under eaves or in atriums. Give them plenty of room overhead and combine with large-leafed foliage plants and very fiery colored exotic flowers.|
|Companion Plants||Azalea (Azalea); Fatsia (Aralia); Elephant Ear (Colocasia); Stromanthe (Stromanthe); Aucuba (Aucuba)|
|Care||Thrives in warm, humid environments with humus-rich, evenly moist, well-drained soil and dappled shade. Protect from harsh afternoon sun exposures in very hot regions. Apply a thick layer of mulch to keep the root zone cool and conserve moisture. Feed lightly, periodically throughout the year.|
