What is your Photo Use policy?
We allow limited usage of our photos. They can only be used online to promote select, seasonal Monrovia plants that you are selling at your garden center. Please contact your Monrovia Sales Craftsman for further information.
I have a great plant Monrovia should grow. Are you interested?
We may be! Please send a short description and photo to our New Plants Team. We’ll let you know if your plant has the potential to join some of the hundreds of exclusive Monrovia plants we’ve introduced over the years.
Can I grow your patented plant at my nursery outside of the United States?
Yes. We do license Monrovia plants abroad. Please contact Jonathan Pedersen, Vice President of Business Development, for details.
Can I tour a Monrovia Nursery?
Yes. Your Monrovia Sales Craftsman can help you arrange a tour. Please contact him or her directly.
Do you have a recycling program for plastic pots?
No. We do not collect used Monrovia containers from garden centers for both logistic and sanitary reasons. Often, we use common carrier trucks throughout most of the United States and they do not return to our nursery after delivering plants. Additionally, due to pest and disease issues such as the Mediterranean fruit fly, the glassy-wing sharpshooter, fire ants, and sudden oak death, it is not viable to bring the containers back on to the nursery grounds; the resources and chemicals needed to disinfect the pots would offset the potential benefits.
Can my customers recycle their Monrovia pots?
100% of our pots are recyclable.
Our recyclable pots are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) which are designated #2 HDPE or #5 PP. Most recycling facilities accept these plant pots. #2 HDPE is the most-often recycled plastic in the United States – the same plastic used to make milk jugs and household laundry and dishwashing detergent bottles. Some recycle centers do not accept plant containers that are too dirty.

Can I use the online Monrovia Plant Catalog to populate my garden center website’s plant database?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide our entire photo library to populate your online database. We allow limited usage of our photos. They can only be used online to promote select, seasonal Monrovia plants that you are selling at your garden center. Please contact your Monrovia Sales Craftsman for further information.
I have put my garden center’s zip code in the garden center locator and other garden centers are coming up first. Why isn’t my site coming up higher in order?
The purpose of the garden center locator is two-fold; first, it is designed to highlight the retailers that help make the Monrovia brand what it is today.
Its second function is to help consumers find a garden center where they can find Monrovia plants. For that reason, the listings are ranked based on the quantity of plants shipped, with the understanding that the consumer will have more Monrovia plants and options to select from.
I’m not included on the garden center locator, but I have bought plants from Monrovia. Why is this?
Retail customers must purchase $10,000 minimum in Monrovia plants to be included in the garden center locator. It may be that you didn’t purchase the minimum amount.
We do this so that consumers can be sure to have a good selection of Monrovia plants at the garden center they visit.
I bought a particular plant and am not showing up as an available retailer for that plant on the plant search results page. Why not?
In this case, the locator is set to search for garden centers – no matter the purchase level – that brought in a particular plant within the past 90 days. We have set these criteria to better help consumers find the plants they are seeking. If your purchase was not made within the 90-day timeframe, your garden center perhaps may not be listed for that plant.
