Centennial Spirit Crape Myrtle
Lagerstroemia indica 'Centennial Spirit'

This gorgeous shrubby tree begins its seasonal show with magnificent, dark wine red inflorences that stand upright on the trees like torches in summer. In fall, foliage reliably turns red and orange. Over winter, the exposed bark offers unique peeling texture with light silvery contrasts in the traditional sinuous crape myrtle fashion. All this is matched by improved cold hardiness, mildew resistance and limited suckering. Prune to desired size and shape for an accent, as a high profile hedge, or specimen shrub. Deciduous. Moderate growth to 10 to 20 feet tall and nearly as wide.
