Design Ideas
An exceptional mat forming groundcover that's exquisite in conjunction with landscape boulders or rocky outcroppings. A fine choice for the top of a retaining wall or spilling over the edges of raised masonry planters. Provides interest and weed blocking cover in Asian inspired landscapes or for the same in wild gardens. Topiary forms make wonderful garden or entry accents, especially when planted in pairs.
Grows in average to poor, well-drained soils. Space 4 to 5 ft. apart as groundcover. Control weeds with mulch until plants fill in. Water deeply, regularly during first few growing seasons to establish an extensive root system; reduce frequency once established. Apply fertilizer in early spring. May be pruned annually to shape.
