Succulents are Grounded in Beauty: Here are Three Water-wise Ones Below

Succulents are Grounded in Beauty: Here are Three Water-wise Ones Below

Romance is most often about flowering favorites such as roses. However, don't think those of us who live where water restrictions limit our plant choices can't have swoon-worthy gardens, too! Present someone with a few of these red-tipped succulents in a heart-shaped planter. Alternatively, with ones sitting outside taking in any of the three water-wise wonders below. This would be an affair to remember.

Lipstick Echeveria

Bright green leaves with vivid reddish edges form dense rosettes. Zone: 9 – 11

Woo Me Waterwise

agapanthus300x300

Baby Peteâ„¢ Lily Of The Nile
Zone: 8 – 11

Masses of blue flowers float in dainty orbs above clusters of compact foliage.

rugosarose300x300

Pink Rugosa Rose
Zone: 3 – 9

Don’t be fooled by tender-looking flowers–this rose thrives in tough places.

orangejessamine

Orange Peel Jessamine
Zone: 7 – 10

When the sun goes down, this one pours on a sweet scent that perfumes night air.

Love it? Buy it! (Plus a few more we love.)

I am looking for variegated creeping fig to cover an ugly fence on a narrow easement on the east side of my house. I want aggressive coverage, ever variegated green to reflect some light in an area that has some limited morning sun, but is mostly shady and dark and could use the white or creamy leaf highlights to bring light to this area in Sacramento. California.
