Makes a superior foundation cover-up that cloaks featureless walls on more sun-challenged exposures. Deserves front yard stature or position at special points around patio or terrace. Beautiful evergreen foliage makes a fine informal hedge, screen or dark background for bright blooming beds and borders. Brings glossy foliage and elegance into dull woodland settings under big old shade trees. Well-adapted to the acidic soils beneath oaks, conifer and maples as well as mixed groves.
Flower Color Pink
Foliage Color Green
Companion Plants Azalea (Azalea); Forsythia (Forsythia); Fern (Microlepia); Lily of the Valley (Pieris); Winter Daphne (Daphne)
CARE
Care Provide organically rich, well-drained, acidic soil. Needs some shelter in harsh winter climates. Keep roots cool with a thick layer of mulch. Water deeply, regularly during first few growing seasons to establish an extensive root system. Thin to one bud per cluster to increase bloom size. Fertilize and prune lightly to shape after flowering.
HISTORY

This fast growing very cold hardy cultivar can be dependably grown to 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Produces semi-double 4-inch blooms.
