Description A vigorous and easy to grow fern with a neat, formal, upright mound of rigid, silver-green fronds with deep purple midribs. Perfect for the woodland garden as a backdrop to hostas or paired with coral bells. Thrives in moist, shady settings, though more tolerant of brief dry spells than most ferns of its type. An herbaceous perennial.

Care Provide organically rich, well-drained soil. Best foliage color in light shade. Cut back old fronds after new growth begins in spring. Divide clumps every 2 to 3 years.
