We have been pioneers and craftsmen in the art of growing plants for nearly 100 years. Since our founding in Southern California by Harry E. Rosedale, Sr. in 1926, we have been absolutely dedicated and obsessed with quality.Â
Â
Quality starts by selecting the very best varieties of plants to grow, working with breeders from around the world to test and trial plants before we deem them suitable for your garden center. From our custom soil mixes developed to ensure healthy roots to the care we take in pruning and shaping our plants as they grow, Monrovia is also focused on giving every plant what it needs to thrive. Below you’ll find helpful information to use in serving your customer.

Information about the top selling varieties at your stores:
Centennial Rubyâ„¢ Hydrangea
A special release to celebrate Monrovia's 100th anniversary, the flowers of this hydrangea are simply stunning. The rich ruby-red mophead blooms deepen in color as the long-lasting flowers age, sometimes taking on almost black hues. Exceptionally sturdy and compact, with strong stems and thick green leaves.Â
Hiâ„¢ Fire Hydrangea
Incredible, deeply saturated blooms are red in alkaline soil and purple with a bright blue eye in acidic soil. Exceptionally strong stems make for a sturdy plant. Perfect for creating a classic cottage look. The larger size will quickly fill in empty spaces. Reblooming. Deciduous.
FiredUpâ„¢ Coral Mandevilla
An upright grower with bright coral-pink pinwheel-shaped blooms and narrow leaves. The reaching stems are perfect growing up a trellis in a container, adding bright summer color to decks or patios. Left unstaked, it forms a full, bushy plant. Evergreen where hardy; fabulous annual color elsewhere.
Bountifulâ„¢ Baby Blueberry
An extremely compact variety with an impressive crop of small berries packed with flavor. The glossy green leaves develop a wonderful deep red fall color that persists through winter. The small size is perfect for containers; a great addition to a patio kitchen garden. Evergreen in mild climates. Recommended chill: 800 hrs.
Li'l Annie Oakleafâ„¢ Hydrangea
A wonderful compact variety that doesn't flop. Abundant big white flower clusters blush with pink, eventually reaching a deep ruby. Begins its fall show of burgundy and bronze foliage earlier than other varieties. Useful for mass planting, hedges or borders. Deciduous.
Sunseeker® Coneflower Series
An abundance of beautiful semi-double flowers bloom throughout summer. Layers of orange petals encircle nectar-rich green cones. The orange tone starts with more yellow and ages to peachy hues. Attracts pollinators to sunny perennial beds and makes an excellent cut flower.
Fiestaâ„¢ Limonada Rosa Lantana
Clusters of vivid magenta and butter-yellow sterile flowers are a festive addition to gardens in warmer areas, or use as an annual where not hardy. Sterile flowers allow more prolific flowering and a well-behaved plant. The compact size and slightly trailing habit are perfect for hanging baskets and containers. Evergreen where hardy.
VIBE® Ignition Salvia Series
Notably heat and drought tolerant, this petite sages explodes with buds that open to vibrant flowers throughout summer. One of the most humidity tolerant varieties of its type. Add to summer garden borders, wildlife or cutting gardens, or feature in containers. A Monrovia exclusive, introduced in 2017. An herbaceous perennial.
